People have different learning styles, so our instruction is varied to engage all your senses. In addition to teacher instruction, we incorporate slides and videos, worksheets and handouts, Q&A time, group discussion, online instruction in real time, product demonstrations, games, etc.
Each class is intentionally kept “short and sweet” so as not to overwhelm and discourage our students. We have chosen to do 1 hour classes and provide a series format to build on new skills, as opposed to 1 long class. We give our students materials to take to reference and provide an email address so they can ask us questions when they are working on their new skills on their own.
We start the class with 5 minutes to clear our mind and provide regular stretch and restroom breaks. We provide healthy snacks and beverages. Our classroom is a safe space, with no judgement allowed. We promote a very supportive atmosphere, encouraging students to joke, laugh and cheer one another on. We allow students to learn at their own pace, and provide some extra time after class to assist students one-on-one if they desire.
